Clinical (Full Body) Acupuncture
What is Clinical (Full Body) Acupuncture?
Clinical (Full Body) Acupuncture is a traditional holistic therapy which has been practiced in China and other East Asian countries for thousands of years. Very thin, single use, sterile, disposable needles are inserted. The needles will stimulate your body to start to rebalance itself and move towards a state of optimum health.
According to traditional Chinese philosophy, our health depends on the smooth flow of this vital energy (Qi). A disrupted, obstructed or deficient flow can result in symptoms of pain and illness for a variety of lifestyle and environmental reasons. Through helping to maintain the body’s equilibrium, acupuncture can help re-establish the flow of ‘qi’ to restore the body to health and is therefore used to treat a wide variety of conditions.
Every organ has a nerve supply which can either speed up or slow down the functions of that particular organ, and due to a variety of factors like chronic stress, these organs can become over stimulated or under stimulated. It is known that acupuncture causes the release of many potent, morphine like, pain relieving chemicals called endorphin's and the neurotransmitter serotonin which affects mood.
What can Clinical (Full Body) Acupuncture do for me?
Some people turn to Clinical (Full Body) Acupuncture for help with a specific symptom or condition. Others choose to have treatment to help maintain good health, as a preventive measure, or simply to improve their general sense of wellbeing. Because traditional acupuncture aims to treat the whole person rather than specific symptoms in isolation, it can be effective for a range of conditions. Many people return to acupuncture again and again because they find it so beneficial and relaxing.
What can I expect during an Clinical (Full Body) Acupuncture therapy?
Clinical (Full Body) Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points within the body. Sometimes a breathing technique can be used to calm and relax the client, the needles are left in for 20-40 minutes in order for the client to feel the full effect. Once the needles have been removed from the body, we will dispose of them in a safe and appropriate manner.
